The Health Protection Agency (HPA) has stated that appointments for the second dose of Covishield will be issued with the resumption of the vaccination program on Sunday.
According to the HPA, those who received the first dose of Covishield will be contacted to schedule appointments for the second dose based on the date the first dose was administered, and those who received the first shot earlier would be prioritized.
Furthermore, the HPA advised people to be on time for their appointments at the chosen vaccination center, along with their national ID card or other legal identification document and the vaccine card.
Maldives began its nationwide COVID-19 immunization program with Covishield in February, but had to discontinue mass vaccinations in May after the vaccine’s producer, India, suspended export due to an increase in COVID-19 cases.
317,244 people have received their first vaccine shot in Maldives, and 191,725 people have been fully vaccinated, leaving approximately 125,500 people to receive their second shot.
