The reclamation of 10 hectares of land from Hulhumale’ Phase 3 Site A has been successfully completed.
Urbanco, the state-owned corporation responsible for the reclamation project, announced on Friday that the reclamation of Site A in Hulhumale Phase 3, which was initiated first, has been successfully finished. Following this milestone, the reclamation of Site B has now commenced.
Urbanco has called upon all vessels docked at Site B to relocate before Sunday, as reclamation works are currently underway, making it unsafe for vessels to remain in the area.
Originally, the reclamation of Site A was scheduled to be completed by the previous Friday. However, the project faced delays due to waste that had been discarded in the area.
Physical reclamation work for Hulhumale’ Phase 3 began on September 22nd, marking the beginning of an effort to provide land to recipients under the current administration’s ‘Binveriya’ scheme.
In total, 63 hectares of land are slated for reclamation under this project, which will lead to the issuance of 700 land plots to individuals.
