The body of Mary Grace, a foreign nurse who was working at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH), has been returned to the Maldives following post-mortem examination in India as part of the ongoing investigation into her sudden and suspicious suicide.
The Maldives Police Service stated that attempts are presently ongoing to send over Grace’s remains to her family, adding that it will provide as much information about the case as possible.
Grace, a female Filipino hemodialysis nurse at IGMH, was found dead on October 9. The investigation into her apparent suicide culminated in the arrest of her spouse, a 29-year-old Filipino who also works as an ER nurse at IGMH.
Marvin, her husband, was arrested on October 27 and placed in detention for 15 days. In addition, police seized the phone of another nurse at IGMH, a Maldivian woman with whom Marvin reportedly had an affair, as part of the investigation.
