Maldives Police Service has arrested a local imam in northern region of Maldives over sexually abusing a step-child.
A Maldives Police Service media official confirmed that they have arrested a 38-year-old after receiving reports of sexually abusing a 12-year-old.
The case is currently under further investigation by the Police and no further details have been confirmed.
