An individual has been arrested at Velana International Airport (VIA) with suspected drugs.
The individual was arrested while he was on the way to the domestic terminal. The individual had rubber packets believed to be drugs.
The individual was arrested by the Maldives Police Service while he tried to flee. Maldives Police Service stated that they received intel from a source that the individual was carrying drugs.
There have been reports of several drugs being confiscated from VIA’s restroom on Saturday and Sunday as well.
