Integrated National Public Ferry Network Project (INPFNP) to commence in November, as announced by Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) and Ministry of Housing, Planning, and Infrastructure during today’s press conference.
As part of the government’s pledge to connect islands and atolls of the Maldives via a high-speed ferry network, Zone 1 of INPFPN will start as early as November. Zone 1 consists of most northern atolls of Haa Alif, Haa Dhaalu, and Shaviyani. There will be a total 6 zones for the project.
2 more zones are set to commence next year, while the whole project is set to be completed in 2023.
The total value for the project is estimated to be MVR 157 million and is handled by MTCC.
