The education ministry has signed an agreement with Al Jeri Holding Group, a Kuwaiti educational services business, to establish and operate a bilingual international school in Hulhumale.
In a ceremony held at the Ministry of Education on Wednesday, Education Minister Dr Aishath Ali and Talal Khalifa Al Jeri, chairman of Al Jeri Holding Group, signed a deal to develop a 1,200-student capacity school in Hulhumale Phase I.
The English-medium international school will offer education from the foundation stage to Grade 12 and will also teach Arabic.
According to the education ministry, the international school studies will be carried out in two phases, with the first phase slated to begin in the next academic year in August 2022, and the second phase set to begin in 2023.
The school will be built by a local company under the supervision of Al Jeri Holding Group, and plans are already in the works.
Al Jeri Holding Group operates 20 international schools in Kuwait.
