Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has announced that the Laamu Isdhoo and Haa Dhaalu Nellaidhoo Harbor projects are nearing completion, with 85% and 70% development, respectively.
According to MTCC, Hdh. Nellaidhoo Harbor project is currently observing existing harbor and new harbor pavement works, which are 86 percent complete.
Hdh. Nellaidhoo harbor development project includes dredging and excavation works of around 63,000 cubic meters. This project also includes the construction of a 331-meter breakwater, a 204-meter quay wall, and a 50-meter revetment. In addition, the installation of a 2,102sqm paved area, navigation lights, and streetlights are covered under this project.
L. Isdhoo Harbor project includes dredging and excavation works totaling 27,129cbm, as well as the construction of a 230-meter quay wall, a 208-meter breakwater, and a 98-meter revetment. In addition, 1,560 square meters of paved area will be installed, as well as harbor lights.
Nellaidhoo Harbor project is expected to cost MVR 47.62 million while the Isdhoo Harbor project is valued at MVR 34.7 million.
