Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has announced that it has hired 80 Maldivians for various positions this year.
MTCC Managing Director Adam Azim told a local news station that the company has hired 80 local youths to fill roles previously held by expats in 2021.
While mentioning that MTCC employs between 2,500 and 3,000 people, MD Azim stated that every MTCC employee receives at least MVR 10,000 in pay.
Furthermore, Azim stated that the president does not want any development initiatives to be slowed or halted, and as such, MTCC has been continuing work on each island. Furthermore, he stated that MTCC will only provide equipment to a project site to complete the project, and that if they do stop a project, they will publicly state why.
