Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has not paid bonuses to its employees since 2019.
MACL said that the company suffered massive losses due to the COVID-19 pandemic and its immediate closure of borders in 2020. However, all employees of the company were paid full salaries despite the financial difficulties.
MACL employees last received bonuses of MVR 7,879.79 in 2019. MACL is yet to decide on the pending two-year’s bonuses. The company is facing a lot of scrutiny for not deciding to compensate the employees for the last two years’ bonuses.
