The operation of the recently developed Lh. Madivaru airport has been awarded to Maldivian, the national airline of the Maldives.
The development of Madivaru Airport was contracted to Kureddhoo Holdings, a subsidiary of Crown and Champa company, in May 2018. The airport’s construction was contracted to China’s Beijing Urban Construction Group (BUCG), a company that is contracted for major development work at the Velana International Airport (VIA). Kuredhdhoo Holdings on Monday signed an agreement with Maldivian to operate the airport.
According to Maldivian, the final preparations to open the airport are underway and hopes to commence scheduled flights by next month.
