Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid and his Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov held phone talks on Monday to discuss further enhancement of bilateral ties and cooperation.
Minister Shahid highlighted the importance of cooperation in the humanitarian sphere, including scholarships provided by the Azerbaijani government to train Maldivian students.
Moreover, Minister Bayramov stated the Azerbaijani government’s readiness to provide cooperation in the fields of science and education to friendly countries. He also informed his counterpart about the current situation in the region after the Armenia-Azerbaijan war.
Both ministers further discussed issues related to the cooperation within the international organizations such as the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the UN.
