Maldives Immigration announced on Thursday that all border officers have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
In a tweet announcing the achievement, Immigration encouraged other government departments to follow the president’s directive that all government employees be fully inoculated against COVID-19.
On Tuesday, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih directed that all government personnel, including government agencies and subsidiaries, be immunized against COVID-19 by completing both doses, adding that vaccination is the greatest way to protect the entire population from the virus.
According to the most recent official figures, 278,469 people received the second dosage of the COVID-19 vaccination, while 326,339 received the first dose.
