The Ministry of Tourism has confirmed that 95 percent of tourism employees have gotten two doses of the COVID-19 vaccination.
According to the tourism ministry’s weekly update report, 95 percent of tourism personnel are completely vaccinated as of November 10, while 99 percent of tourist employees have had at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccination.
Within three days after launching the immunisation campaign, the government began administering vaccinations to frontline tourism employees. The Maldives now has 152 resorts in operation, employing 41,431 tourist employees.
In addition, the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) and the tourism ministry launched a vaccination campaign aimed at the Maldives tourism industry, with the goal of making the Maldives the first country to fully vaccinate its tourism employees.
