The Maldives has participated in the Expo 2020 in the United Arab Emirates, which will last six months.
Expo 2020 was formally started on October 1st at the Dubai Exhibition Centre in the UAE.
The economic ministry previously announced that Maldivian delegates will participate in a variety of cultural events at Expo 2020.
According to the economic ministry, the expo is an important chance to promote the Maldives and highlight the country’s natural beauty as well as its inhabitants’ history of sustainable growth.
During the expo, the government will conduct investment forums for several industries to give information on investment and business possibilities in the Maldives.
On October 25, Expo 2020 will also host a day of honor for the Maldives pavilion to specifically promote the country.
Expo 2020 will be the first international expo to be held in the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia, as well as the first to be hosted by an Arab country. The expo expects 25 million people, with 70 percent of them coming from outside the country, the highest proportion of international tourists in history.
Expo 2020 is a World Expo that is presently being held by Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. It was initially planned to take place from 20 October 2020 to 10 April 2021. The revised dates, however, are 1 October 2021 – 31 March 2022, owing to the COVID-19 pandemic.
