During the 5th United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries (LDCs), President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih met with President of Palestine Dr. Mahmoud Abbas, where he reiterated the commitment of the Maldives to advocate for the rights of the Palestinian people.
President Solih expressed the government and people of the Maldives’ unwavering support for the people and government of Palestine in their pursuit of self-determination. The two leaders also discussed the strong cultural ties and shared values between the two countries.
President Abbas expressed his appreciation to President Solih, the Maldivian government, and its people for their support towards Palestine and its people. President Solih ended the meeting by reaffirming the Maldives’ dedication to promote the recognition and dignity of the Palestinian people and to advocate for their rights.
