The Health Protection Agency (HPA) has confirmed three COVID-19 deaths in less than eight hours, raising the total number of deaths to 90.
According to the HPA, the first death occurred at 2:24 a.m. this morning, when an 86-year-old Maldivian male undergoing care at the Hulhumale’ Medical Facility died.
The second death was a 64-year-old Maldivian man who died at Hulhumalé Covid Facility at 06:30 a.m., while the third was an 86-year-old woman who passed away at 09:05 a.m.
According to HPA, the third death at Dhuramanvantha Hospital was the 90th death linked to the virus in the Maldives.
Maldives has seen a recent surge in COVID-19 cases, with more than 1,000 cases reported every day for the past four days, including 1,216 cases yesterday.
