The Maldives has welcomed more than one million tourists so far this year.
According to tourism ministry figures, 1,060,004 tourists have visited the Maldives this year, with a daily average of 4,708.
The number of visitors this year is 26% fewer than in the same period last year, but 145% greater than in 2020.
In the first ten days of November, 47,046 visitors visited the Maldives, a 3% increase over the 45,724 visits registered in the same time in 2019.
According to the figures, 92,103 tourist visitors were reported in January, 96,882 visits in February, and 109,585 arrivals in March of this year. In addition, there were 91,200 visitors in April, 64,613 in May, 56,166 in June, 101,818 in July, 143,599 in August, 114,896 in September, and 142,066 in October.
Furthermore, records reveal that the biggest number of tourist arrivals to the Maldives are from India, accounting for around 22.5 percent of overall tourist arrivals. Russia had the second-highest number of tourists, accounting for 18.4 percent of overall tourist arrivals in the Maldives.
