Since the relaxation of COVID-19 border restrictions, the Maldives has established a new record for the number of tourist arrivals in a single day.
The tourism ministry said in a tweet that 6,269 tourists arrived in the Maldives on Sunday, topping the previous record of 6,172 arrivals on October 16.
According to official data, the number of tourists arriving in the nation is increasing, with the total number of tourist arrivals recorded last month exceeding the total number of arrivals recorded in November 2020 by 5%.
The Maldives Immigration reported that 144,725 tourists visited the nation in November, with most tourists visiting from India, Russia, the United Kingdom, Germany, and the United States.
The Maldives welcomed 1,162,425 tourists as of December 1, according to tourism ministry data, and at the current rate of daily tourist arrivals, the number of tourists visiting the nation is likely to exceed 1.3 million by the end of the year.
