The Maldives and Turkey have signed an air service agreement to expand the tourism sector in both countries.
Transport Minister Aishath Nahula signed the air service agreement on behalf of the Maldives government during her current visit to Turkey. Turkey’s Transport Minister Adil Karaismailoglu signed the agreement on its behalf.
The Turkish transport minister stated during the ceremony that the civil aviation sector will be developed further as a result of this agreement, and the difficulties that both countries’ civil aviation sectors are experiencing will be resolved.
He also added that the agreement would strengthen bilateral relations and advance the economies and tourism sectors of both countries.
Following the ceremony, both ministers held discussions centered on coordination and cooperation in the development of the transportation sector via an MoU.
