Maldives has reassured Singapore of its commitment to elevate the longstanding friendly ties between the two countries to new heights. The newly appointed High Commissioner from the Maldives Thasmeen Ali made the statement in a meeting held after presenting his Letter of Credence to the President of Singapore Halimah Yacob.
During the meeting, President Halimah Yacob and High Commissioner Thasmeen exchanged greetings and good wishes, while acknowledging the close cordial relations that exist between the two countries. High Commissioner Thasmeen conveyed greetings and good wishes from President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and the people of the Maldives to President Halimah Yacob and the people of Singapore. He thanked President Halimah Yacob for accepting his credential and reassured his commitment and support to further enhance and elevate the existing longstanding friendly ties between the two countries to new heights during his tenure.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih appointed Ahmed Thasmeen Ali as the High Commissioner of the Maldives to Singapore on August 25.
