A Maldivian flight preparing for take off at Hanimaadhoo International Airport has caught on fire.
According to Maldivian, the fire incident occurred and the windshield of the co-pilot side of the aircraft was shattered while the flight was preparing to take off.
An immediate evacuation was done on the runway by the Hanimaadhoo International Airport’s fire and rescue services. Maldivian said they are further investigating the incident.
Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) also confirmed the incident and said all passengers were safely evacuated from the aircraft. Moreover, the aircraft is now being towed.
