Island Aviation Service (IAS), in charge of running the national airline Maldivian, is looking to finance its recent acquisition of three ATR aircrafts worth MVR 863.5 million.
The company announced today that they are seeking bank loan or credit facility or sale and leaseback options to fund the acquisition of two ATR 72-600 aircrafts and one ATR 42-600 aircraft.
ATR 72-600 is priced at USD 20 million or MVR 308.4 million. Meanwhile, ATR 42-600 is priced at USD 16 million or MVR 246.7 million.
According to Maldivian, they will receive the aircrafts in the last quarter of 2022. Two ATR 72-600 aircrafts will be delivered by October and ATR 42-600 in November.
IAS is set to overhaul the current fleet of aircrafts with more fuel-efficient ATR models. The company also announced yesterday that it is seeking to rent two ATR aircrafts to commence operation in April.
