Manchester City extend their lead at the top of the Premier League table to 14 points with goals from Riyad Mahrez and Kevin De Bruyne.
De Bruyne scored an early goal which was cancelled out in 10 minutes from a James Ward-Prowse penalty. Pep Guardiola’s side took the lead with goals from Riyad Mahrez and Ilkay Gundogan just before half-time.
A potential penalty for City was denied by a controversial VAR ruling after Southampton keeper Alex McCarthy tackled Phil Foden who continued to stay on his feet.
Riyad Mahrez and De Bruyne scored their second goal of the match to make it 5-2 for Manchester City. In-form Che Adams scored the second goal for Southampton.
