The Health Protection Agency (HPA) has announced that PCR testing is no longer required to travel within the Maldives.
HPA mandated PCR testing for those traveling from Male’ to the islands last month when the COVID-19 cases in the Maldives started rising at an alarming rate. However, without further restrictions, the situation has now returned to near normal.
The ease in restrictions announced today include no PCR testing required for travel within the Maldives, the limit on attendees for events held in the Greater Male’ area has been lifted.
However, HPA said its guidelines must still be followed when holding events and large gatherings.
