The Maldives National Party (MNP), the country’s newest political party, has amassed 10,000 members in a short period of time.
The party, which focuses on nationalistic ideals, was officially registered with the Election Commission on October 26.
Colonel Mohamed Nazim (retired), MNP President and Dhangethi MP, welcomed and praised party members for exceeding the 10,000-member threshold in such a short period of time, stating the party had a promising future.
Nazim pushed the party’s foundation together with two other People’s Majlis members, Thimarafushi MP Abdulla Riyaz and Vilimale MP Ahmed Usham.
