The Maldives Meteorological Service (MET) has issued a weather warning for the next four days due to the onset of the southwest monsoon.
According to MET, the southwest monsoon is forecast to grow intense across the Maldives on Wednesday. For the next four days, MET expects widespread rain, isolated heavy showers, strong winds, and turbulent waves.
Furthermore, the average wind speed is expected to be between 15 and 25 miles per hour, with gusts reaching 50 to 60 miles per hour, and tidal surges on some islands with turbulent waves are probable.
MET warned seafarers to exercise caution when venturing into the ocean.
