The Maldives Meteorological Service (MET) has issued a white alert to the region of Haa Alifu Atoll to Laamu Atoll.
From 17:00 until 22:00, MET predicts thunderstorm, strong winds, and rough seas in the region.
According to the meteorological service, the average wind speed will be between 19 and 24 miles per hour, with gusts up to 40 miles per hour.
Seas are expected to be rough with strong winds, MET advises travelers to be cautious.
