The Maldives Meteorological Service (MET Office) has issued a white alert for the majority of the north and south atolls, extending from Haa Alifu to Vaavu Atoll and Gaafu Alifu Atoll to Addu City.
From 09:00 to 15:00, the meteorological office predicts strong winds and rough seas.
Furthermore, the average wind speed is expected to be between 19 and 24 miles per hour, with gusts reaching 40 miles per hour.
The MET Office warns seafarers to exercise caution as the seas are likely to be rough with high gusts.
