Maldives Meteorological Service (MET) has issued a yellow alert for a large part of northern central Maldives, from Haa Alifu Atoll to Meemu Atoll, warning of heavy rain, strong winds and rough seas.
The yellow alert is effective from 15:00 to 19:00 on Monday. MET forecasts the area will be affected by heavy rain and strong winds of 25-30 miles per hour, with gusts of 50 miles per hour.
MET advised seafarers to be cautious of rough seas.
