The Maldives Meteorological Service (MET) has issued a yellow alert to the region of Laamu Atoll to Addu City.
MET expects heavy rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds from 14:45 to 18:45.
Furthermore, the average wind speed is expected to be between 25 and 30 miles per hour, with gusts reaching 45 miles per hour.
Seas are expected to be rough during showers. MET advises travelers to be cautious of rough seas.
