Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) has recorded an increase of 64.2% in revenue in March this year, compared to the same period of last year.
MIRA stated that it collected MVR 2.18 billion which includes US$ 106.71 million, in revenue in March. As per statistics, Goods and Services Tax (GST) accounts for the largest share of the total revenue collected by MIRA in March. This amounts to MVR 1.10 billion.. Meanwhile, statistics showed that MVR 541.19 million was generated from Tourism Land Rent.
Moreover, MIRA collected MVR 183.70 million as Income Tax, MVR 105.71 million as Green Tax, MVR 65.09 million as Airport Development Fee, and MVR 179.79 million as other taxes and fees.
