President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has named Mohamed Shahyb as the new Chief Spokesperson at the President’s Office in a ceremony held at the President’s Office.
Shahyb brings over three decades of distinguished journalism experience to the role. His extensive contributions to news and information dissemination were recognized in 2004 when he received the National Award of Recognition. In 2007, he was honored once again, this time for his contributions to Dhivehi literature and the Dhivehi language.
The seasoned journalist’s achievements continued in 2019, with the prestigious ‘Alimas Galan’ journalism award, celebrating his outstanding contributions to the field. Notably, Shahyb also served as the President of the Maldives Broadcasting Commission, showcasing his commitment to media governance.
President Muizzu’s appointment reflects a commitment to experienced and reputable figures, highlighting Shahyb’s expertise in shaping and conveying the administration’s message to the public.
