Mohamed Shareef (Senco Shareef) has been named chairman of Maldives Ports Limited (MPL).
Shareef was appointed to the position after a year-long gap caused by the departure of Ahmed Zaki in November 2020.
In 2008, Shareef was appointed chairman of the former Maldives shipping carrier MNSL. He was also a member of the People’s Majlis from 2005 until 2011.
The Privatization and Corporatization Board made the decision to appoint Shareef, who was already a member of MPL’s board.
