Maldives Ports Limited’s “Port Safety Week Run” is due to take place tomorrow at Hulhumale’ International Terminal as part of its Port Safety Week, which runs from December 26 to December 31.
MPL stated that the event would begin at 6:30 a.m. tomorrow and that around 300 people will participate in the race. Cabinet ministers, prominent executives from government agencies and corporations, and members of the People’s Majlis are all included.
It also stated that the victors of the 5-kilometer race will get cash prizes, with the first-place runner receiving MVR 2,500, the second-place runner receiving MVR 1,500, and the third-place runner receiving MVR 500.
MPL also stated that the proceeds from the sale of the run-specific jersey will be donated to the non-governmental group Advocating Rights of Children (ARC).
According to MPL, the goal of dedicating a week to raising public awareness about occupational health and safety is to foster a culture that emphasises safety and protection.
As part of the promotion of the run, MPL presented the race’s jersey to Vice President Faisal Naseem, Transport Minister Aishath Nahula, Higher Education Minister Dr. Ibrahim Hassan, MTCC CEO Adam Azim, and STO Managing Director Hussain Amru Mohamed Rashad today morning.
