The first ship bought by Maldives State Shipping (MSS) has made her first journey to the Maldives with loaded cargo.
After completing its inaugural journey, the company’s MSS Galena docked at Male’ Commercial Harbor on Tuesday morning.
According to MSS, the goal is to undertake a trip between Male’ and Colombo, Sri Lanka, every 8 days.
MSS Gelena can transport 780 containers and a 60-ton crane, and her crew is made up of 99 percent Maldivians.
MSS is a subsidiary of State Trading Organization (STO), which owns 99.99 percent of MSS while Fuel Supplies Maldives (FSM) owns 0.01 percent.
