Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) began rock profiling work on the breakwater for the shore protection project at Fulidhoo, Vaavu Atoll, on October 29.
The Fulidhoo shore protection project was awarded to MTCC on December 28, 2020, with physical work beginning on April 24, 2021.
According to MTCC, the project scope includes dredging, backfilling, and beach filling of 12,127.50cbm of sand, as well as the building of 210-meter groynes and a 270-meter breakwater.
The Fulidhoo shore protection project is worth MVR 16.94 million and will take 350 days to complete.
