Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has brought 36 mini buses to commence bus service in Male’ City,
MTCC announced via a tweet on Saturday that their fleet of buses has arrived in the Maldives and port clearance is currently underway. CEO of MTCC, Adam Azim noted that the company will begin mini bus service in the capital city during this month.
Starting mini bus service in the capital city was a presidential pledge of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, scheduled to kick-start within the first 100 days of his administration. As such, during February 2019 an agreement was signed between the Ministry of Transport and MTCC regarding the service.MTCC currently operates buses from Male’ City to Airport, Hulhumale’ Phase I and Hulhumale’ Phase II.
