Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has today signed agreements with Ministry of National Planning, Housing, and Infrastructure (MNPHI) regarding the construction of shore protection structures in 5 different islands.
The projects in Raa Atoll Fainu and Baa Thulhaadhoo will include backfilling works, bed preparation works, and the construction of a geobag revetment. The R. Fainu project will cost around MVR 9 million and is expected to finish within 180 days while the B. Thulhaadhoo project will be completed within 150 days and will cost around MVR 10 million.
Moreover, the project works in Vaavu Rakeedhoo consists of a 200m breakwater and a 40m groynes while the works in Raa Rasmaadhoo will include a 336m groynes. The two projects have a combined valuation of around MVR 21 Million.
The construction project in Meemu Mulah will consist of a 412m geobag revetment which will cost around MVR 18 million and is expected to finish within 105 days.
