Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has been contracted to develop regional ports at Hdh. Kulhudhuffushi and GDh. Thinadhoo.
In a special ceremony held at MTCC’s head office, the agreement to handover the projects was signed by CEO Shahid Ali on behalf of Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) and CEO Adam Azim and COO Shahid Hussain Moosa on behalf of MTCC.
As part of the project, Kulhudhuffushi regional port will be redeveloped. The project works include dredging, construction of a new harbor, revetment and installation of navigational lights. Moreover, construction of a new administrative and workshop building along with an environmental impact assessment.
As part of the second phase of Thinadhoo’s regional port development, a port administrative building will be constructed along with a guard house, warehouse, and a workshop building.
MTCC was contracted to complete Kulhudhuffushi regional port redevelopment within 495 days and is worth MVR 138.9 million. Meanwhile, Thinadhoo’s regional port development is contracted to be completed within 330 days and is worth MVR 17.8 million.
