The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has announced a significant expansion of its Male’-Hulhumale’ bus service, now operating around the clock.
In a conversation with PSM News, CEO Adam Azim revealed that this decision was driven by the aim to cater to night-shift employees who require transport during unconventional hours. Recognizing the increasing demand for continued bus services past midnight, particularly from workers at entities like the Waste Management Corporation (WAMCO), MTCC responded by extending the bus service hours.
Azim elaborated that buses will be available every hour from 12:30 AM to 5:30 AM, ensuring that night-shift workers no longer have to rely on expensive taxi rides for their commute. Moreover, MTCC is open to adjusting the early morning bus schedule based on passenger preferences, reflecting their commitment to delivering convenience to the public.
Previously, the bus service between Male’ City and Hulhumale’ operated from 5:30 AM to 12:30 AM. With this enhancement, passengers can now traverse this vital route at any hour, providing a more accessible and economical transportation option.
