Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has introduced contactless debit cards (MasterCard and VISA) for Raaje Transport Link (RTL) bus service.
MTCC stated that customers can now use MasterCard and VISA contactless debit or credit cards issued by any bank across the globe to pay for RTL bus service. MTCC added that fare collection validators have been installed in all the RTL Male’ City buses.
The new contactless card payment option alongside the existing payment methods will provide more accessibility and convenience to customers, according to MTCC.
MTCC currently accepts cash payments for paper tickets directly for Male’ Routes buses and also for Addu City, Fuvahmulah City and Laamu Gan, Fonadhoo, Isdhoo and Kalaidhoo. Moreover, the company have also added online payment via RTL Travel App or Website, Tap to Pay via rechargeable bus cards and now contactless payment via debit or credit cards.
MTCC said the contactless payment option is currently available for Male’ City buses, however the company is working on introducing the option for RTL bus service across all regions.
