Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has announced that the ABC materials necessary for the runway development of Gdh. Faresmathoda Airport have been delivered to the project site.
The project is on track, according to MTCC, with structural construction on the airport fire building now underway.
The mobilization of the project site on January 1 marked the start of practical work on the airport construction project. MTCC CEO Adam Azim earlier indicated that the company is striving to complete the project by mid-November.
The airport development project entails the building of a 1200-meter runway, taxiway, apron, and service roads, as well as all operational facilities.
The Gdh. Faresmathoda Airport, which is being developed as a domestic airport, is expected to be worth MVR 144.88 million.
