The government has officially submitted the list of 22 Cabinet members appointed by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu to the Parliament for approval. This action aligns with Article 129(c) of the Constitution, which mandates the President to present the names of Cabinet appointees to Parliament within seven days of making the appointments.
President Muizzu announced the Cabinet appointments on November 17, followed by the oath-taking and presentation of appointment letters at the President’s Office. The newly appointed ministers affirmed their commitment by signing the oath declaration in the presence of Supreme Court Chief Justice Ahmed Muthasim Adnan.
The revamped government includes 22 Cabinet members, with appointments extended to four newly established ministries. Additionally, names of nine existing ministries have undergone modifications as part of the restructuring process. The submission of these names marks a crucial step in the formation of the new government, awaiting parliamentary approval for the official confirmation of these appointments.
