A local company has been given a contract by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs to construct another temporary mosque in Hulhumale’ Phase II.
Yes Maldives Private Limited was given the contract to build a new temporary mosque in Hulhumale’ Phase II, capable of accommodating 600 worshipers at the same time, for MVR 3.1 million.
According to the Islamic Ministry, the project will be completed in 35 days, and the mosque will feature separate areas for male and female worshippers.
Yes Maldives Private Limited was also awarded the contract for the first temporary mosque with a capacity of 450 worshipers in Hulhumale’ Phase 2 for MVR 4.3 million on September 15.
Masjid Ameel Jaleel, the first permanent mosque in Hulhumale’ Phase II, was opened to the public in October. The two-story mosque can hold 650 worshippers at once and features a multi-functional section with a library and classrooms.
