The newly built water supply system in Villingili, Gaafu Alifu Atoll has been handed over to Fenaka Corporation Limited.
Villingili water supply system was developed by Angelic International Limited and Iron Exchange Limited, which was contracted to them in 2017. This system contains a reverse osmosis plant with a capacity of 158.6 tonnes and two storage tanks which can hold up to 38 tonnes in total.
The water supply network is connected to households and it contains a laboratory to conduct tests on water quality and it will be operated by Fenaka Corporation.
The total cost of Villingili water supply system was around USD 3.6 million which was funded under direct expenditure of the government and loan assistance of OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID).
