President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has announced that those who have had two weeks pass since the second COVID-19 vaccine dose can travel freely to the atolls.
President Solih announced this on his Twitter marking a whole year passed since Maldives recorded its first COVID-19 case and went into a lockdown.
Maldives began COVID-19 vaccination on February 1, with the first 100,000 doses of Covishield vaccine granted to the Maldives by India. Since then, the Maldives has started administering Sinopharm and Pfizer vaccines as well.
As per the latest statistics of HPA, more than 273,00 people have received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while more than 25,000 people have received their second dose of the vaccine.
