The Maldives has begun offering online appointments for the third dosage, or booster dose, of the COVID-19 vaccination.
The Health Protection Agency (HPA) announced today that a limited number of appointment slots for Pfizer vaccine booster shots in ADK Hospital had been made accessible through QueueBee. It also said an appointment is required to acquire the booster shot.
The administration of COVID-19 booster shots in the country began on October 3 for eligible people over the age of 50.
With plans to begin delivering the booster shots to frontline employees in the healthcare, tourism, and airport industries this week, it will be made accessible to all eligible people in mid-December.
Furthermore, the Maldives will receive an extra 100,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine from the COVAX facility next month, the Health Emergency Operation Centre said on Sunday.
