Police said they detained three persons on Friday as part of Operation Riveli, a special New Year’s Eve operation.
The operation was launched on December 24 and was conducted both on land and at sea.
According to police, 387 vehicles were searched, and 789 locations were inspected between 4:00 p.m. Friday and 6:00 a.m. Saturday. In addition, 504 individuals were questioned, and 99 persons were searched.
Furthermore, police received complaints of four thefts, three assaults, two muggings, and one drug case.
During the operation, police enhanced patrols, stopped, and questioned persons strolling the streets late at night for no apparent reason; this will continue even after New Year’s Eve.
