The opposition has responded to President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s presidential address by heavily criticizing that the President has failed to realise the actual situation of the nation.
Minority leader, Eydhafushi MP Ahmed Saleem from Progressive Party of the Maldives (PPM) responded to the address at Wednesday’s Parliament sitting. In his response, Saleem said the President’s address did not accurately reflect the country’s current situation. It was lackluster and irresponsible to deliver such an address.
“The President promised that there is zero tolerance for corruption but corruption runs rampant in his administration. The people’s living standard is deteriorating with each passing day. The wealth promised for the people is not entering their pockets.” MP Saleem accused.
Moreover, Saleem called for the resignation of President Solih to protect the country’s religion, values, and independence.
